Tulsa Community College
Assistant Professor, Digital Media and Mass Communication (and Journalism); Faculty Adviser, TCC Connection
Tulsa, Oklahoma
I have been a community college professor, including as an adjunct and full-time, teaching undergraduate-level (in journalism and business) and graduate school-level (in business) courses for 19 years. Additionally, my journalism students have been consistently recognized regionally, statewide and locally for their accomplishments, receiving nearly a dozen awards in 2018. My journalism experience was gained working for my family's newspaper, The Oklahoma Eagle, the state's oldest African-American weekly. I am a part-time public relations and diversity communication consultant, serving private corporations and public organizations for nearly two decades. Last year, I ran for City Council finishing in second place in a three-candidate race.
